Steel Banding

Steel Banding comes in predominately two forms; Ribbon
Wound and Oscillated (also known as Mill Wound).

Ribbon Wound – Ribbon Wound strapping is a lighter
alternative to Oscillated / Mill Wound strapping with a more
manageable weight on popular sizes from 16-24Kg per coil.
The coil is produced with each layer directly wound over the
next, the coil is the same width as the strap.

We stock a wide range of steel strapping including popular
widths of 13mm, 16mm and 19mm with a variety of breaking
strains. To be used in conjunction with the correct sealer plus
either Lap Over Seals, Snap-On Seals or Wing Seals.

Oscillated / Mill Wound – The strap is predominately focused
on high-volume usage with an average weight of 50Kg per
coil. It is uniformly and tightly formed across the core
meaning less waste than Ribbon Wound strapping. It has a
waxed coating on the steel which allows for greater
tensioning as the steel banding slides over itself when been
tightened.

Polypropylene Strapping

There are two main types of polypropylene strapping. Hand
Applied application and Machine Applied application.

Hand Applied application is for use in conjunction with Semi
Open seals, Serrated Seals or Wire Buckles. This strapping is
perfect for light and medium duty requirements and designed
to make light work of securing your loads.

The standard size is 12mm strapping with a range of
thicknesses to suit requirements from 0.5mm to 0.85mm

Machine Applied Strapping is used in conjunction with both
semi-automated and automated strapping machines.

Standard sizing include both 9mm and 12mm strapping

Polyester Strapping:

Polyester Strapping is one of the strongest strapping products
produced from PET (polyester). It is utilised in many industries
such as brick, steel, textile and more. With its excellent
retained tensioning properties it stays tight in transit and
allows for slight flexibility to absorb movement within transit.

There are different sizes available from 13mm to 16mm with
differing thicknesses. Used in conjunction with serrated seals,
lap overs, buckles, semi-open seals and closed seals

Corded / Woven Strapping

There are three main types of corded / woven strapping; with unique properties for each. All used with buckles, either
galvanised or phosphated.

Composite Polyester Strapping:

Composite Polyester Strapping features are plastic coating of which increases both abrasion and rigidity but at the same time making it easier to tension as the strapping pulls over itself with more ease.

Woven Polyester Strapping:

Woven Polyester Strapping is made from a process of crossing the strands of polyester yarn over itself with a cold glue applied to improve strength and performance. This strapping offers a higher resistance to splitting through wear as small cuts don’t spread throughout the strap. Ideal for roughly edged consignments.

Corded Polyester Strapping:

Also known as Cord Strap, it is manufactured from high
tensity yarns in a close-woven structure. It is as strong as steel within its tensile strength yet at a much more friendly operating weight at almost 5 times lighter.
